Migos
Atlanta trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff whose triplet flow and hits like "Bad and Boujee" defined 2010s trap.
Who are Migos?
Migos is a trio from Lawrenceville, Georgia, near Atlanta: Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. They are family: Quavo is Takeoff's uncle, and Offset is their cousin.
Known for
"Versace" (2013), which got a Drake remix, and the album Culture (2017), with the number one "Bad and Boujee". Culture II (2018) followed with "Walk It Talk It" and "Stir Fry". Takeoff died in 2022.
Style
The "Migos flow": rapid triplet rhythms, ad-libs bouncing between the three voices, and catchy repetition over heavy trap beats, much of it from producers like Zaytoven, Murda Beatz and Metro Boomin.
Impact
Migos took Atlanta trap to the top of the pop charts. Their triplet flow became one of the most copied styles in hip-hop of the 2010s.
