Atlanta is the capital of modern hip-hop. In the '90s OutKast and the Dungeon Family proved that “the South got something to say”, and TLC made the city the home of hit-making R&B and rap.

In the 2000s Ludacris ruled the radio and T.I. gave a new sound its name with Trap Muzik. Atlanta trap, built on booming 808s and rapid hi-hats, would go on to take over the world.

In the 2010s the city produced one star after another: Migos with their triplet flow, Future, 21 Savage and Lil Yachty. Run The Jewels, with Atlanta's Killer Mike, showed the city's political side.
